+Ngo Phuong Lan wins Miss Vietnam Global 2007

VietNamNet Bridge - It seemed not to be a surprise for those who watched all programmes of Miss Vietnam Global that Ngo Phuong Lan, 20, a student studying in Switzerland, won the contest on September 2.

The lady also made the best response to the board’s question, which is “why Miss Vietnam’s activities is always attached to humanitarian issue?”. She said, “The true, the good and the beautiful are always the dignity and aspiration that all people wish to reach. The beautiful is attached to a kind and sincere heart. Humanitarian activities are those that honor the beautiful.”

Arriving in the US at the age of 1, and now studying diplomacy in Switzerland, Lan, No. 888, won the love of many people with her pure beauty and friendliness.

Moreover, her mother said that her parents consider it an important issue to teach Lan the traditions and characters of the Vietnamese. Although they live abroad, they speak Vietnamese and eat Vietnamese food.

She also said that her daughter would continue her study and then come back to Vietnam to work.

The answer that also moved everyone was Teresa Sam’s. She said that she wanted to answer the question in Vietnamese but she had to speak English and burst into tears. She was the second best in the beauty contest, followed by Dang Minh Thu, who was moved with the memory of her grandmother’s vegetable soup.

The beauty contest also had other awards for Miss Sea, Miss Tourism as well as Miss Photography.

The contest was held in Vinpearl resort. The programme was live, beginning in the traditional atmosphere with water puppets and Vietnamese house and 37 beautiful ladies. They participated in three performance of swimming suits, gala dress and ao dai.
